If you are currently using dimmers from the categories below, you should upgrade your dimmer to the latest Universal version. Universal dimmers are capable of controlling LED bulbs, offering optimal dimming range and performance.
Don't See Your Dimmer?
Vizia
If your dimmer looks like the one shown in this picture (left), you have a Vizia dimmer. The Vizia product line was discontinued and replaced by the Decora Digital™/Decora Smart™ Product Line (right). In addition to aesthetic and smart functionality upgrades, Decora Digital/Decora Smart products are rated for use with LED bulbs.
SureSlide®
If your dimmer looks like the one shown in this picture (right), you have a SureSlide dimmer. The SureSlide product line was redesigned (right) to provide a more contemporary look with a smoother feel. An easy way to differentiate between these products is the “pointy” slide bar. In addition to the aesthetic upgrade, the newer SureSlide dimmers are rated for use with LED bulbs.
IllumaTech®
If your dimmer looks like the one shown in this picture (left), you have an “original” IllumaTech dimmer. This product was redesigned to offer a smoother look and feel. An easy way to differentiate between these products is the small green LED light within the square push button. If you can see the light on your device, you will need to upgrade to the IPL06 model which is rated for use with LED bulbs.
Toggle
If your dimmer looks like one of the 2 products shown in this picture (right), you have an “original” Toggle or Toggle Touch dimmer. These product lines were discontinued in order to update to a more user-friendly design. An easy way to differentiate between these products is the slide bar to the right of the main toggle switch. In addition to the aesthetic upgrade, the newer Toggle Slide dimmers are rated for use with LED bulbs.
Rotary
If your dimmer looks like one of the 2 products shown in this picture (left), you have an “original” rotary dimmer. These product lines were discontinued in order to upgrade functionality for use with LED bulbs. An easy way to differentiate between these products is the product catalog label located on the top right of the face of the device. If the part number on this label is “RDL06” or “RNL06”, you have a dimmer rated for use with LED bulbs.
Tabletop
If your tabletop dimmer looks like the one shown in this picture (right), you have an “original” tabletop dimmer. This product was upgraded to enhance functionality for use with LED bulbs. An easy way to differentiate between these products is the small green LED light to the left of the slide bar. If you can see the light on your device, you will need to upgrade to the TBL03 which is rated for use with LED bulbs.
